| Pests and Pesticides in Schools Indiana House Requires December 2001 Progress Report on Implementation The Indiana House of Representatives passed House Resolution 125 on April 25, 2001. The resolution calls on the Indiana State Chemist and a representative from each public and nonpublic school in Indiana to report to the Chairman and the members of the Education Committee of the Indiana House of Representatives not later than December 1, 2001. The report must assess the progress of each school toward adoption of policies and procedures to prevent adverse effects of pesticide use in the schools. Thanks to Rep. Bodiker for sponsoring the resolution and Rep. Porter for hearing the Rep. Avery’s HB-1250 in his Education Committee. Also, thanks to Sen. Gard for carrying a similar bill — SB-143 — and holding a hearing on that bill. See related article on Indiana implementation of policy. For a copy of the Indiana House Resolution.
