Scholarships Available!

Lead poisoning is an ugly problem that harms the health of our children and our neighborhoods. Asthma affects too many of our children, and too many asthma triggers exist at home and school.  To eliminate lead poisoning and to reduce childhood asthma attacks, changes need to be made in how housing is maintained and repaired, and how schools and daycares are maintained. That type of change takes concerned parents, neighborhood leaders, ministers, parish nurses, student activists, elected officials, housing agencies, health departments  and other community leaders. You need to be at the conference to learn about lead poisoning issues and how it affects your family and neighborhoods.

General Guidelines:

1. Scholarships are not available for overnight lodging or travel.  If this is a major barrier to your participation, please contact Janet McCabe at mccabe@ikecoalition.org or 317-902-3610 to discuss

2. Only one person from an organization is eligible for a scholarship.

3. Applications must be received at 1201 N. Central Avenue #9, Indianapolis, IN 46202 by September 30 at 5:00 p.m.  Applications may also be sent by fax at 866-234-8505.

We try to keep the paperwork simple.  Along with your registration form, provide in an email, fax, or note your answers to these two questions:

1.    What is your involvement with childhood lead poisoning presently?

2.    What will you do with the information from your attendance to help your home, your neighborhood, or your community?

You should get a response within four business days.  Don't be shy - we want you involved!
