2004 Indiana Lead-Safe and Healthy Homes Conference

November 9 & 10, 2004

Thanks to Our Exhibitors!

We are well into summer and you are beginning to plan our Fall schedule.  As you look at your calendar, please consider marking November 9 and 10 for a trip to Indianapolis.

The Indiana Lead-Safe and Healthy Homes Conference will be held on November 9 & 10 at the Marten House in Indianapolis.  This is our fourth year for the conference and once again, we are holding the line of registration fees.  We want a full house as in past years so we can build momentum to eliminating lead poisoning in Indiana.

The exhibit hall will be open from Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 8:30 am to Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 1:30.  For $150, you can get an exhibit table and attend the conference.  For just $100 more, you can get a booth.  See the box below for details.

Why you need to exhibit your services and products?

§         Diversity:  In 2003, we had 216 participants.  32% were from housing agencies and 48% were from health agencies.  The balance were policy makers, parents and vendors.  With Indiana’s adoption of a Lead Elimination Plan, we anticipate even more participation and diversity.

§         Presentation:  We believe it is important to use the conference to highlight exhibitor’s services and products.  Therefore, at our 2002 and 2003 conferences, we gave exhibitors with an Indiana sponsor the ability to make a presentation describing their goods and services in a breakout session.  These sessions were popular.  We plan to do it again.  All you need is someone from Indiana who has used your product or service who can sponsor you.  With that sponsorship, you get a 10-minute slot at a special breakout session to explain what makes your product or services special.  Please, we ask that you not use videos in the presentation.

§         Opportunity:  We have 8 breaks scheduled during exhibit hours.  The exhibit area will be the main gathering place where food and drinks will be served.

§         Broader Focus:  The conference is firmly rooted in lead-poisoning prevention.  However, we have several breakout sessions focusing on the link between housing and asthma.  In addition we have a session dealing with mold.

§         Demonstration:  We will have a clean-up demonstration going on throughout the conference.  Instead of dealing with abstract images, the demonstration will allow participants to visit your booth with a better context.  If any vendor wishes to provide a special demonstration beyond the breakout session demonstration, please let us know.  We will try to accommodate you.

§         Cost:  At $150 for a table and $250 for a booth, the costs are low.  Because we want exhibitors engaged with the participants, we include one conference registration with each exhibit booth.  The conference registration fee is $125 per person.  If you bring a second person to the conference, the additional cost is $95.  A great deal!

§         Feature Your Customers:  At the conference, we will present the annual Lead-Safe Indiana Awards.  This is a good chance to highlight your customers that have used your products or services in a creative or particularly effective manner.  Nominate one of your Indiana customers.

Sponsorships:  We welcome sponsorships for the conference, breakfasts, hospitality booths or other special events.  The sponsorship fee for a Lead-Safe Patron is $750.  At that level, you would receive:

           Up to two participant registrations;

           Space on “take one” display table;

           Name and status on conference binder and signage; and

           Recognition at conference announcements.
