Lead-Safe Indiana Conference!

Coming Up on Nov. 6 & 7, 2001

Yes, the day after the election.  There will be lots to talk about and discuss.

With the success of the conference in 2001, the Task Force felt that we needed

After mulling the possibility of skipping a year in favor of supporting a Midwest Regional Conference, we looked at the success in 2001 and discussed the many issues that needed to be discussed.  Rather than a regional conference focused on lead poisoning professionals, we felt we needed a conference for Hoosiers that was even more diverse than in 2001.  We especially wanted to bring in local minority health coalitions, healthcare professionals, and property managers.  Therefore, we will be having a 2002 Lead-Safe Indiana Conference in Indy on Wed., Nov. 6 and Thursday, Nov. 7.  We are finalizing the contract with the hotel now.  Key features will be:

  • Two full days instead of a day and a half.

  • Three tracks for breakout sessions instead of five.

  • Indy location with lots of parking and good food.

  • Continued reasonable rates and easy access to scholarships.

Contact Tom Neltner for more details.

Plan to attend the Lead-Safe Indiana Conference on Nov. 7 and 8 in Indy at the Sheraton at Keystone at the Crossing. The esteemed lead poisoning researcher, Dr. Bruce Lanphear will be the keynote speaker. Licensed risk assessors should be able to complete their two day refresher requirements by attending the conference and special sessions.

While some sessions will support experienced professionals, special efforts will be designed to support those who are new to the issue. They include:

  • Concerned parents

  • Church leaders
  • Neighborhood activist
  • Community leaders
