ISDH Sets Short Term Goals

In response to a letter from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ISDH sent a letter on December 30, 1999 to CDC declaring it will:

  • Appoint a Statewide Advisory Committee for lead issues and convene the Committee in February 2000.
  • Meet the goal of testing, by July 1, 2000, 75% of the children less than or equal to 6, with blood lead levels at or above 10 ug/dL living in U.S. Census block groups within Indiana. The block groups will be those where 20% or more than the children below 6 years of age may exceed the 10 ug/dL blood lead level.
